Maria is an accomplished Fashion Designer who studied in Firenze (Florence, Italy) as well as the world-famous Istituto Marangoni in Milan where she gained a diploma in Fashion Design in the 1980s and early 1990s. She also worked with prominent designers at the time such as Giorgio Corregiari and others.
In 1994 she set up Manzoni Fashion both as a fashion house as well as a tuition centre and was, concurrently, a founding Partner and Director of People&Co (Business Psychology, Recruitment, HR Consulting and Business Analytics) and People Learning (Personal Development and corporate training) which she founded with husband David in 1995.
She was instrumental in the development and progression of the recruitment and HR services in the business as well as her fashion school activities which she is now exclusively focused on, including delivering MQF Level 4 Introduction to Fashion Design and Level 5 Advanced Fashion courses in conjunction with People and Co- People Learning, a licenced further and higher education centre. She also had experience lecturing on fashion modules for the University of Malta as well as delivering numerous short courses for People Learning including fashion courses for children, pattern-making, sustainable fashion etc.
Maria is a very active person who balances her work and personal life to great effect considering the varied roles and responsibilities she has had, not only as previously a working mum who raised two boys who are today successful young men in the fields of Marketing, Medicine and Music but as a highly acclaimed fashion tutor. Maria also has an interest in the environment and arts and brings the two together at the farmhouse where she lives.
