What is it about?

The Advanced course is a continuation of the basic and intermediate course. It will enable you to confidently manage worksheets and workbooks, enter data and be able to perform calculations by creating advanced formulas. You will also be able to use Apply Functions in formulas including the IF function in conjunction with other functions, utilizing the AND/OR functions. You will learn to create and manage Pivot Tables and create advanced chart elements. You will also get the feel of basic Macros. At the end of each lesson, there will be a practical exercise to ensure that the course objectives have been reached.

This course is aimed at individuals seeking to gain extensive understanding of MS Excel 2016 functions that will enable them to fully utilise the program's potential.

 

What will I gain?

This course will provide you with extensive knowledge on how to use lookup utilise what if analysis and apply advanced date and time functions among others. You will learn how to create and manage pivot tables as well as basic macros. This course enables you to take full advantage of the versatility MS Excel 2016 offers.

  • Manage Workbook Changes
  • Prepare a Workbook for Review
  • Look Up Data with Functions: utilizing the LOOKUP function, utilizing the VLOOKUP function, utilizing the HLOOKUP function, utilizing the TRANSPOSE function AND/OR functions, utilizing nested functions, utilizing SUMIFS, AVERAGEIFS, and COUNTIFS functions
  • Apply Advanced Date and Time Functions
  • Create Advanced Chart Elements including adding trendlines to charts, creating dual axis charts,  creating custom chart templates, viewing chart animations
  • Utilising what If analysis tools including Goal Seek, utilizing the Scenario Manager, enabling iterative calculations,
  • Create and Manage PivotTables including creating new PivotTables, modifying field selections and options, creating a slicer, grouping records, utilizing calculated fields, formatting data
  • Applying Dynamic Validation lists, ToolTip and Error Messages
  • Create Scenarios including utilizing the watch window, consolidating data
  • Introduction to Macros - Record a Marco/Stop Recording
