What is it about?

This course adds 2 levels together. Foundation Course in Fashion Design level 3, leading to Award in Fashion Design MQF Level 4.(an A level equivalent)with an internationally recognized qualification. 

The Foundation Course in Fashion Design is aimed at students who wish to explore and understand the intricate processes involved in fashion design. It is an excellent course for anyone passionate about fashion and eager to learn the skills necessary to turn their creative visions into wearable art. This introductory program provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles and techniques that form the backbone of the fashion industry. 

Students enrolled in this course will delve into various aspects of fashion design, including sketching, pattern making, fabric selection, and garment construction. They will also learn how to create a project book about various topics such as, putting ideas on paper, selecting a design, pattern making, pattern designing according to the design in hand, making a sample and filling a tech sheet 

By engaging in hands-on projects and practical exercises, students will develop essential skills such as creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving. The course will also cover the basics of fashion illustration and digital design tools, allowing students to bring their ideas to life in both traditional and modern formats. 

Additionally, the Foundation Course in Fashion Design includes workshops in slow fashion, opportunities to show their work, lectures from experienced professionals, providing students with valuable insights into the realities of working in fashion.
