This course enables the learner to study deeply how patterns for Female garments are made. Weather you wish to choose pattern making as a career or you just want to sew your own clothes or get into Fashion designing, this is the right course for you in order to release  your artistic  vision when creating garments. Starting from foundation level to advanced. The student is taught how to construct patterns from standard measurements, making pattern blocks and developing other pattern styles, pattern grading and pattern manipulation for fashion design.  

 

Course outline  

Module 1 The Skirt – For this module the learner will be executing different pattern versions of how a skirt pattern is modelled 12 lessons 2 hours each. 

  • Measurements and Proportions of the female human figure. 

  • Pattern Block- The Skirt and 10 different pattern variations of a skirt. 

  • Case Study-  

Module 2 The bodiceconstruction of the front bodice, back bodice and collars. 12 lessons 2 hours each  

  • Dart transformation and manipulation. 

  • Front bodice block 

  • Back Bodice Block  

  • Variation of collars 

  • Case Study-  

Module 3 The sleeve- construction of the sleeve with different styles. 16 lessons 2 hours each 

  • Sleeve Block 

  • Variations of sleeves for dresses shirts and tops. 

  • Raglan 

  • Kimono 

  • Case study  

Module 4 The Dress- Pattern making of  Basic dress, dress variations, culottes 8 lessons 2 hours each  

  • Dress Block basic 

  • Dress block fitted 

  • Culottes  

  • Trousers 

  • Asymmetrical dress 

  • Case Study 

Module 5 The JacketPattern construction of the Jacket and different variations 8 lessons 2 hours each  

  • The Jacket block 

  • Different variations of the Jacket 

  • Case study 

Module 6- The Coat—Pattern construction of the coat and different variations. 16 lessons 2 hours each  

  • The Coat block 

  • Different variations of the coat 

  • Case Block
